AMAHORO
"GOD GIVES YOU PEACE"

During this summer period two teachers from our school, Rossinelli Manuela e Cantoni Roberta, have spent one month, in Burundi to work as volunteers in the local orhanotrophy of Mabayi. Burundi has only recently came out from civil war and land still shows scars of violence. Children don't have anything, neither food nor a shelt and yet they smile and pray God to thank him. Our teachers lived a wonderful experience, working and playing with these unique children who returned them with love and affection.

In the community there are about 42 children, who have the "luck" of a hot meal and a roof above their head. Still more than 200 children join the community during the day to have school and one meal. Most of them are orphans and some of them are seriously sick. In Burundi  AIDS, colera, malaria are the most common and spread diseases and water itself represents a danger for all, because it's not pure.

"Thanks to every child for their happiness and love.
May your dreams will become true"

Manuela e Roberta

THE FRIENDSHIP SECRET FORMULA

Once upon a time in a far far land, there lived people of kind heart and gentle manner.
Quarrels and fights have been forgotten, since a long time and they all lived in harmony supporting each other. It hasn't always been this way: peace ruled over this sunny land since an old mage gave to the village, in gift, friendship secret formula to thank people for their hospitality.
One day a thick mist spread over the village: all people looked into their eyes, wondering what was happening. Suddenly a shade appeared out of the fog: it was a misterious man, dressed in a black robe. He hadn't been ever in that land and yet he was walking fast and steady.
People were scared and at the same time curious about the man and his objective. Soon the man disappeared in the fog, in the direction of the castle of the old mage, leaving all people behind mumbling and frightening.
Suddenly a long scream echoed in the valley and all peasants run to the castle. The first thing they saw was the guardman, tied to a tree.
Then they climbed up the tower, where the secret formula was kept but as soon as they arrived, the only thing they could see was the man in black, escaping through the window with the formula held in his hand.
As soon as the formula was stolen, the friendship spell seemed to vanish.
All people started arguing about the responsability of the theft, some even fighting. A brave man, realized what had happened and set out on his quest to retrieve the magical formula.
After several days of pursuing, he finally reached the thief. After a quick fight the brave man knocked out the mysterious one .
He tied him to an oak and he started questioning him about the formula and where it was.
The thief answered that he was no longer in possession of the formula, because he handed it to the king of the valley. The man revealed to be a monk and that he stole the formula, moved in compassion for the fate of king's child.

The little prince, infact, had no friends at all because everybody was scared of being his friend. The reason was that the king feared for his child life and made him guarded by several armed soldiers.
The monk hoped that with the gift of the formula, the fears of the old king could disappear, leaving the child free of having friends.
The brave man went to the king castle: once there he found that all the citizens of his village had been arrested, because the king was not able to use the formula.
He claimed to know how to use it and thus he was received by the king.
Once there, he spoke with great wisdom: “My fair king, the formula is nothingh but a talisman! People believed that it was the actual source of friendship but they are deceived. Friendship needs to be fed everyday. Not by magic but by love, understanding and affection.”

The king understood the truth, let the village people go and allowed his child to be free of meeting new friends.
The brave man became the king counselor and also his bestfriend.
