- To find differences and similarities between the meaning of peace and tolerance.
Structure of the activity:
Pre-reading activity: brainstorming on vocabulary concerning peace and tolerance (idioms in different languages, for example: love, friendship...) and then listening to “I have a dream” (attached file 2) from the original recording on DVD with italian subtitles.
Reading activity: read the text on Martin Luther King extensively and then analyze it in its meaning and structures through bottom-up and top-down strategies.
Post-reading production: write your own small poem on peace and its meaning. Then read all the poems aloud and discuss them in plenary (attached File 3).
Project: Look for texts, songs or works of art on peace and tolerance in L2 and translate them into L1.
